what do you mean 'that's really weird'?

Elsewhere has tagged me with a meme that requires a post of 5 weird habits so here we go ...

1. Whitebait never makes lists or alphabetizes things like his CD collection.

2. Every year without fail Whitebait consciously or unconsciously finds himself walking past a room full of university students sitting an exam (Wilson Hall at the University of Melbourne is a favourite sunny spot for this activity). And every year he laughs somewhat inconsiderately as he walks by (as much as is possible in an internally suppressed kind of way but sometimes a sudden lack of key motor function control unfortunately preclude this) and W. thinks, 'haha, SUCKERS, I don't ever have to do this again'. An abhorrent lack of empathy from an academic he'll admit, but he really did find exams traumatic, so tough.

3. He habitually thinks 'yeah, right on and sometimes ... alllrright' in terms of  any women and men he sees who happen to be wearing a combination of skirt and trousers (yes, at the same time). More weirdly, Whitebait may have indulged in such an outfit of sorts himself at an Australian doof. So a wild rumour has it. See this MUGS link (that's Male Unbifurcated Garments if you were wondering) and this one about the utilikilt. Freedom from trouser tyranny comrades!

4. When the world is a shit-house place he will sometimes buy a pack of Tim Tams and eat the whole packet one after another. (This may also happen when the world is a wonderful place).

5. Despite knowing that it is criminal music appreciation behaviour he will still insist on saying, when playing a great piece of music to a friend for the first time (and at a volume notch just above the level of track itself), 'wait a minute, wait a minute ... wait a minute ... listen ... isn't that eeeuuu squasqua riff so great!' ... though at least now it is not in relation to embarrassing guitarists like Mark Knopfler but filtered synth lines from some dance music producer like Hallucinogen.

6. OK, maybe he lied about number 1 so, just in case ... hmmm, Whitebait enjoys a good ironing (doing it that is) on a Sunday night when he has the chance. BTW - that is not some sexually coded statement (not one he is consciously saying anyway).

And I never send chain mail on (except once to prove the rule, and it didn't work, so there).

Re: 1 -- oh sure!!!

That is a very Sydney response and analysis (perhaps attributable to scuttlebut-peddling types we know from that part of the world). And wildly overstated of course. And it wouldn't be weird if Whitebait did do it. And, anyway, I changed the CD organisation to genres. Is that better?

Sounds like it involves even more micro-management. Do you alphabetise within genres or is it acc to colour?

You are baiting me Elsewhere! (and succeeding). Yes, it may be the case that genres require the occassional alphabetical restructuring in the interests of efficiency and the triple bottom line and ...

There is NOTHING weird about overdosing on Tim Tams. It's a lot more acceptable than sharing them, because nobody can divide 11 equally.

Nice angle on the question of difficult division Ampersand D (is it Ok to call you that? - I'm in a hip-hop kind of mood today). I'll store that one up to see what kind of response it gets next time.
